UA Makes List of Top Universities Worldwide

The UA is a top 50 degree-granting institution in the world, according to a new report by the Center for World University Rankings.

The announcement came this month with the UA in 50th place among the top 100 public and private institutions in the world. Other rankings include:

The UA was among 58 institutions in the U.S. to make the list, which included institutions around the world like Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford and Columbia.

Among institutions only in the U.S., the UA placed 37th.

For patents, the UA placed 27th.

The UA was the top-ranked institution in the state of Arizona.

Among the top 100 institutions, UA had better overall placement than did institutions like Rice University, Tokyo University and the University of Heidelberg,

The center, known as CWUR, measured institutions based on a number of factors, including citations in scholarly journals, patents, the training of students, the caliber of the faculty and also the future of alumni, among other things.
