From Pre-Olympic Games to the British Open

A group of UA Eller College of Management students has been touring Europe with University faculty while learning about sports management. Meanwhile, the group has been attending some major athletic events.

UA student Ben Zenner is blogging about the experience. In his most recent post, he writes:

"I feel like I start every post the same way, but I truly can’t put into words what a great week it has been (so far)! In my previous post I let y’all know that this week we had the British Open on tap, a Manchester United stadium tour, two Olympic Basketball exhibition games, and to top it off a trip to Paris! Talk about a filled week – but it has been unreal up to this point."

Most recently, the group has visited Dublin and Blackpool, attending the British Open. In writing about the British Open, Zenner continues:

"We attended on Tuesday for the start of practice rounds and it was pretty awesome being able to see these incredible professional golfers so close. Unfortunately El Tigre (Tiger Woods) was already finished with his round when we got there but we followed around Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Ricky Fowler, Dustin Johnson, and many others.  Some of the group even got to talk to U of A alum, Jim Furyk! You never really realize how impressive these players are until you see them in person, and lets just say my golf game has a ways to go (put lightly).  But, what a great opportunity it was to see so many golfers and to see one of the premier events in the entire world!"

The group is bound for the Olympics. Check back for more updates. Photo courtesy of Ben Zenner.
